Starting November 19th, 2022 and running through November 11th, 2022, the Ajijic Fiesta Celebrations will take place along Lake Chapala, Mx. This is a traditional celebration that takes place the last week of November each year.
Each night during the Ajijic Fiesta Celebrations, visitors will find freshly prepared food, local musicians, and a nightly firework display. Local markets adjoin the area and one can find all sorts or wares including clothes, jewelry, and household goods.
Beyond the traditional fiesta activities, attendees will notice that love is in the air. One will often notice young adults walking in circles around the main plaza. As tradition goes, an admirer can purchase a rose from a vendor and present it to a lady that has captured his eye. The two will then stroll around the plaza to get to know one another. If the purchaser is rejected, he must then search out another to give his love to.
If you plan to visit the Ajijic Fiesta Celebrations this year, note that the celebrations can last well into the night. The celebration can get quite loud and rambunctious as the night progresses. So if you are more inclined on an easy low key visit, prepare to visit in the evening hours.
